The Central Valley Juvenile Detention and Assessment Centre is a facility that houses minors for a variety of reasons including pre-trial release. If your child or grandchild has been detained by the Central Valley Court system, they will be detained upon their release. Visitations are allowed at this facility by parents, foster parents, grandparents, and legal guardians.

In certain circumstances, siblings over the age of 21 or uncles and aunts will be allowed to visit the detainee if there is no parent or legal guardian.

Two people from the authorized list for visitations will be admitted into the same visit. Both visitors must arrive a half an hour ahead of the visiting time to complete the processing and be granted visitation. If both parties are not present, only the visitor who arrives on time will be allowed for the visit. Additionally, if both parties are late, the visit will be cancelled.

Visitation times occur within frames that do not interfere with the facility’s functionality. The facility is monitored at all times by a closed-circuit security system. The facility may cancel visits at any time for security or safety issues. If traveling a distance, it is advised that you call to ensure that visits are still on for that day. However, the visits can be canceled before or during the visit if safety risks exist.
