Incarceration
Incarceration can affect everyone involved. Not only will the offender be affected but it can have grave consequences for family and friends as well. Parents and guardians have legal rights to know if their child has been arrested and being held in custody (“Juvenile delinquency,” 2016). Maintaining familial bonds for juveniles can be one of the most important things to reintegrate them back into societal norms. Family and friends should attempt to stay in connection with their loved ones because maintain relationships is critical to their wellbeing.
In the United States, criminal search records are simple to find through inmate search tools. Under normal conditions most accused, offenders will first be located in jail. To find an accused youth, you can search their names located on the link above, or you can go directly to the jail’s website to search as well. Other factors such as transportation time and booking may inhibit locating the accused from being found until procedures have been completed.
Offenders have legal rights under “habeas corpus” and all must be logged or “booked” into the system upon arrival. Inmates have the right to place bond until they have been convicted of a crime. Useful information such as the offense committed, name, and date of birth will help in determining the facility they may be in whether it is a jail, prison, or detention facility for youth.
