The Marion County Jail & Detention Center was first introduced in 1999 as a multi-county correctional facility. The Marion County Jail & Detention Center is located at 1514 Victory Road in Marion, Ohio.

The Marion County Jail & Detention Center offers Religious programs, such as church services and professional clergy visits. Additionally, the facility offers educational opportunities, such as tape viewings of subjects such as science, math, social studies, current events, English, and history. Lastly, there are a number of self-help programs available, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcohol and other Drugs, Healthy Relationships Educational Classes, and Drug and Alcohol Recovery type Classes.

These programs are held throughout the week at the Marion County Jail & Detention Center for the inmates.

To schedule a visit at the Marion County Jail & Detention Center, patrons must call 740-387-7434, ext. 4 the Friday before their visit from 9:00am-3:00pm. Visits are approximately 30 minutes.

Medical Visitation takes place on Saturdays, beginning at 1pm.

 

Visitors over the age of 18 must present a photo ID in order to visit the facility. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Only 2 adults and 3 children are allowed at each visit. Only medication is allowed to be given to an inmate during a visit. Visitors are expected to wear appropriate attire and are subject to be searched at any point during their visit.
